facsillitating over 75 amazing days out!

Ran 5 residential projects, working with 13 organisations...

of which 2 were brand new partnerships!

Plus, 85% of participants felt more confident to take on new challenges, and 89% of participants felt encouraged to look after themselves better...

following on from participating in one of our residentials!

In Scotland, one in four children lives in poverty, affecting their physical and mental health, education, and access to opportunities. Physical inactivity compounds these issues: 22% of UK 15-year-olds report no exercise before or after school, one of the highest rates in Europe.

“..outdoor education is one of the most valuable and rewarding learning experiences that a school pupil can have.” - Liz Smith, MSP

We aim to tackle the growing wellbeing crisis facing young people by providing positive, life-enhancing outdoor experiences; helping them to build confidence, resilience, and the foundations they need to reach their full potential. Activities are more than personal adventure; they are about personal growth.

Safeguarding

Child Protection Policy

Hebridean Pursuits Outdoor Learning (HPOL) was established over 30 years ago with a mission to improve the lives of young people through outdoor adventure.

We fully understand the duty of care we have as an organisation for ensuring the safe keeping of these young people we work with.

Our Child Protection Policy provides the framework for our trustees, employees and contract staff to understand our responsibilities and guides our actions in this regard.

Read the Full Policy

Specific areas covered by our Child Protection Policy include:

  • The appointment of a Designated Safety Lead
  • Identifies good practice with regard to Child Protection
