About the Course:

Join us to walk up, in and through the Scottish mountains, one of the best settings in the world! Whether it's a Munro bagging trip, your first summit or an adventure through an impressive glen, we will be with you every step of the way.

This is available for all abilities, however you will need a good level of fitness for Munro bagging and longer day walks. Always ask us if you have any questions.

Skills and Navigation Courses

We also offer courses designed to increase your skills and independence in the mountains. These are built around your needs and current skill level, and will run with small group numbers or 1 to 1 so we can focus on you. We can help with preparation and refresher courses for Summer ML, Hill and Moorland Leader and Lowland Leader.

FAQs

The questions we hear most often from people before they arrive

Do I need experience?+

Some summer hillwalking experience helps but is not essential. We teach everything from the ground up. You need a reasonable level of fitness and a willingness to learn.

What should I bring?+

Bring warm layers, waterproofs, sturdy boots, and a good head torch. We provide all technical equipment including ice axes and crampons.

Is it safe?+

The mountains carry risk. We manage it with experienced instructors, small groups, and careful planning. You will learn to assess risk for yourself.

What if the weather is bad?+

Bad weather is part of winter mountaineering. We adapt the route to the conditions. If it is too dangerous, we stay low and practise skills.

How fit do I need to be?+

You should be comfortable walking for six to eight hours with a pack. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the course.
