Our DofE Expeditions

All of our DofE expeditions have one important thing in common, adventure! From coasteering expeditions, classic backpacking and mountain climbing to long-distance skateboarding, we deliver DofE adventures with a difference. They’re inspired by the young people we work with and built around their ambitions.

We have run Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions for over 10 years, with a variety of schools and groups from all over the UK. We ensure that the expedition is an exciting and unique experience, while facilitating learning and development of skills.

We offer both the practice and qualifying expeditions, which allows us to get to know the young people and teach what they need in order to gain their award. If you are struggling to get enough equipment, we can provide camping gear including tents, sleeping bags and mats, trangias, and rucksacks.

DofE Residential Courses

Our residential activity courses are a perfect way to have fun while completing the residential section of your Gold Award. We run these in our hostels in Glencoe and on the Isle of Mull, two beautiful spots for exploring the Highlands and Islands of Scotland!

A variety of activities are on offer including rock climbing, coasteering, canyoning, hill walking, wild swimming and via ferrata, just to name a few! If you fancied something a bit different, we can offer a winter skills residential, introducing you to the wonder of the Scottish mountains in winter.

UK based DofE expedition ideas

Walking and hill walking throughout the UK including the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands and Islands. We have run many successful expeditions for lots of young people in these locations, which are a great opportunity to explore somewhere different and test yourself against the elements.

Cycling on back roads and tracks through the Yorkshire Dales, the Scottish Lowlands and the Highland and Islands. This is a great way to cover ground fast while still being able to take in the sights. Basic bike maintenance skills will be taught on the practice expedition to help you become independent on the qualifying expedition.

Coasteering expeditions are a unique and challenging way to complete your award. We have run the first and only expeditions of this kind here on the West Coast of Scotland. These are not easy trips and require you to push yourselves but they are extremely rewarding experiences.

Long distance skateboarding, another first style of expedition from us. A great idea for a group looking for something a little bit different and exciting.

DofE Costs

Our costs for DofE expeditions and residentials are quoted for individual enquiries, allowing us to offer you the best possible deal for your group size. We can also include equipment hire for camping gear and other specialist equipment.

Morocco Expeditions

We have run several DofE Gold expeditions to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. These involve trekking up through the foothills over four days, and finishing with the option to climb Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa at 4167m. Throughout the trip you will experience a different culture and have chance to interact with the local Berber people, as well as an opportunity to explore the souks of Marrakech after a full week of trekking!
