Our Impact

The courage to take the next step, enough confidence to take the leap and the realisation that you’re capable of more than you thought.

The activities we provide offer a chance for groups of all ages to experience adventures outdoors.

Away from everyday life, outdoor adventure sparks a light within many of our young people. We see a shift in mindset and newfound self-belief. It’s the experience of a lifetime and one many they never thought they’d have.

Thanks to the generosity of our funders and because we re-invest profit from self-funding clients, every year over 200 young people who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity, get the chance to take part in outdoor experiences that can change the course of their life. Young people like JT.

Can you help us reach more people?
JT's Story
I am 32 years old and a trainee paramedic for the Scottish ambulance service. The Roses project had a massive and positive impact on my life.
I was a very quiet, nervous, timid child with very little confidence. I felt intimidated in certain social situations and had some fears of heights and water in general as couldn’t swim. The residential trips were simply amazing and changed me and my life. The staff on the project were amazing, they took the time to teach me how to get over my fears and where possible adjusted the activity to suit me.
All the activities and experiences helped me step out of my comfort zone, they encouraged me to be more vocal, communicate with others and to be a leader. It taught me the importance of teamwork and more importantly it taught me to be proud of who I am, disciplined, confident and how much perseverance and hard work pays off. I developed a positive attitude and outlook on life that I could achieve anything if I put my mind to it. After these residentials I knew I wanted more out of life and a chance to find out what I can achieve.
I am the first in my family to go on to further education. The Roses project helped me in my time of need and I will be eternally grateful for the experiences we shared together and hope they know how much of an impact they had on my life as I genuinely feel if it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t be where I am now.
